Senators discuss rise in veteran suicides at Holyoke Community College

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Senator Warren will be leading a roundtable discussion on rising veteran suicide rates at Holyoke Community College.
Sen. Warren to tour Holyoke Health Center
Warren alongside state Senator John Velis will talk to suicide prevention teams from the Central Western Massachusetts V.A., Massachusetts National Guard, and the Western Massachusetts SAVE program.. They say they will work to create better collaboration and understanding of what veterans in crisis need.
In the United States, approximately 17.5 veterans take their lives each day, according to the VA’s 2023 National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report. Senators Velis and Warren are working to improve intervention efforts and ensure that veterans receive the care they deserve.
