Ski Utah has compiled a list of new upgrades and experiences for the upcoming 2024-25 ski season across all 15 Utah ski resorts. The season holds new lift technologies, expanded terrain, new dining options, sustainability initiatives and more.What’s new at Utah Ski Resorts, according to Ski Utah:Alta Ski AreaTwo Sunkid, covered conveyors were installed at the Albion Base Area for beginner skiers. A new patrol building was built at the top of Sugarloaf lift. Terrain modifications were made at the top of Collins lift on Mambo, and improvements were made on the Ballroom traverse and the High traverse this summer.Beaver Mountain Ski AreaConstruction continues on Beaver Mountain’s new Marge’s Cabin. The 25,000-square-foot facility will feature a new rental shop, snow sports school, skier services, retail space and café. Additionally, Beaver Mountain is also expanding its parking for skiers and riders. Brian Head ResortSouthern Utah’s Brian Head Resort is scheduled to kick off its 60th ski season on Friday, Nov. 8, with nearly $1.4 million in capital improvements. During the 2024–25 season, the resort will debut three new trails — two for beginners and one for intermediate skiers, bringing the total number of trails at the resort to 74. During the week of Jan. 7, 2025, Brian Head Resort invites everyone to celebrate its 60th anniversary with on-mountain activities and events.Brighton ResortBrighton will introduce night skiing to the Millicent Chairlift for the 2024–25 season. The resort will also enhance snowmaking capabilities off the Great Western & Snake Creek chairlifts. Brighton will also debut hybrid electric snowcats, an electric truck and an electric snowmobile for the upcoming season.Cherry Peak ResortLocated near Logan, Cherry Peak is suited for families and those learning to ski or snowboard. The family-owned, nearly 400-acre resort offers three triple chairlifts, a comprehensive snowmaking system and a 1.25 mile-long run.Deer Valley ResortAs part of the Expanded Excellence initiative, Deer Valley will offer access into its expanded terrain for the 2024–25 ski season. Skiers will now have access to three new chairlifts, over 300 new skiable acres, several new ski runs and 500 additional skier parking spots originating from the Deer Valley East Village, currently under development. This new resort gateway will offer skiers an alternative arrival option to Deer Valley via U.S. Route 40, helping to reduce traffic throughout Park City. The terrain will seamlessly integrate into the existing Deer Valley terrain, with direct access to Sultan Express. Keetley Express is expected to open in December 2024, conditions permitting. It will be Deer Valley’s first six-person chairlift with a bubble, connecting Deer Valley East Village to the existing Deer Valley footprint, dropping skiers off near the bottom terminal of the Sultan Express chairlift on Bald Mountain. The additional two chairlifts, Hoodoo Express and Aurora, will service new beginner-level ski trails and provide return access to the new Deer Valley East Village. Eagle PointThis ski season, kids 12 and under ski-free at Eagle Point and features uncrowded slopes and ski-in, ski-out accommodations for an affordable experience.Nordic ValleyThe Apollo chairlift was successfully overhauled and will be operational for the season. New temporary buildings for skier services will be available, with more permanent facilities expected for the 2026-27 ski season. Park City MountainThe new infrastructure will accelerate the opening of popular runs in the early season, including Chicane and Another World, increasing guests’ access to more terrain in the popular Tombstone Express zone.The My Epic Gear membership program combines the luxury of owning high-quality gear and the customer service of a premium valet. Members can choose from more than 60 of the latest ski and snowboard models from 13 top leading brands. Memberships are limited for the 2024-25 season and are available for ages 3 and up at Park City Mountain, Vail Mountain, Whistler Blackcomb, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Crested Butte, Heavenly, Northstar, Stowe, Okemo and Mountain Snow.Powder MountainPowder Mountain is adding new public terrain with the construction of a lift in Wolf Canyon to Lightning Ridge. The new lift will add 900 acres of lift-served and 147 acres of hike-to access, bringing the total to 1,047 acres of advanced public terrain. The Wolf Canyon expansion complements three new public lifts Powder Mountain is installing: upgrading Paradise, upgrading Timberline lifts and adding the new Lightning Ridge lift.Guided adventure experiences are slated for the coming winter, with Summer 2025 targeted for lift installation. Surveying and planning will begin this summer, followed by announcements of construction timelines and exact routing of lift infrastructure.Powder Mountain will create an open-air museum and sculpture park where visitors can experience site-specific artworks integrated throughout the terrain. Access will be free and open to the public for hiking and biking during summer and fall months and will be skiable with a season pass or lift ticket during the winter.   In February 2025, all Saturdays and Sundays are accessible to only Powder Mountain Season Passholders (with the exception of Ski Utah Passport holders). Midweek Passes are not eligible for this benefit.Snowbasin ResortUpgrades to the Becker Chairlift are set to debut before the 2025-26 winter season. Originally installed in 1986, Becker will  transition from a fixed-grip triple chair to a detachable quad, significantly  enhancing capacity by transporting approximately  1,800 riders per hour. The high-speed lift will also reduce lift time for skiers by half, offering a swift six-minute ride to the top terminal.The transformation of Snowbasin’s Becker Chairlift not only enhances the lift itself but also brings improvements to the surrounding beginner terrain. The bottom terminal will be repositioned adjacent to the Wildcat Chairlift, allowing for easier access. In conjunction with the lift installation, Bear Hollow, Snowshoe and Slow Road will be widened to improve flow and safety in the Family Zone accessed by this lift.SnowbirdNew for the 2024-25 winter season, Snowbird’s beloved original red Tram cabin has been refurbished and transformed into a new outdoor extension of the Tram Club, offering year-round outdoor patio seating, dining and drinks. Additionally, Snowbird will unveil several enhanced dining experiences this winter, including a new lunch and après-ski offering at The Atrium, located at The Cliff Lodge.Snowbird’s original Wilbere Chair will see an upgrade for the 2024-25 winter season, shifting from a double to a quad chairlift. It will also been realigned, with its base station now easily accessible from the Creekside base area. Finally, the upgraded chair features a loading conveyor for added convenience.Solitude Mountain ResortSolitude continues to enhance its snowmaking infrastructure, allowing the resort to better capitalize on early-season snow conditions. In addition, updates will be made to the parking reservation system, which proved  successful in reducing traffic congestion in Big Cottonwood Canyon last season. For the 2024-25 season, Solitude will require reservations on 46 days (down from 61 days last season). The cost of midweek parking has been reduced by 50%, and vehicles with three or more occupants will continue to park for free.Sundance Mountain ResortSundance Mountain Resort broke ground on the forthcoming Inn at Sundance Resort. Projected to open in 2025-26, the new 63-room, ADA-accessible inn at the resort’s base village will satisfy a long-awaited need for the renowned destination. The new Jake’s Lift area improvements include a road realignment to eliminate skier road crossings, and additional parking. There will also be a new beginner run from Jake’s lift to the upper parking lots. This year, the Mountain Camp Day Lodge will open and provide a facility to make day-skiing more convenient with lockers, a ticket office, ski school home base, gear rentals and more right next to the recently expanded resort parking with 110 new parking spaces.WoodwardWoodward Park City prioritizes programming designed to grow the sports offered at the facility — ski, snowboard, skateboarding, scooter, parkour and biking — through multi-week programs offered to local residents. Regardless of sport, discipline, or duration, programs at Woodward Park City prioritize progression, are tailored to learning and are offered for all levels. AROUND TOWN:Salt Lake CitySalt Lake is now home to a new National Hockey League franchise. The Utah Hockey Club will drop the puck for their inaugural season in the fall of 2024. The team will share the Delta Center arena with the Utah Jazz. The Asher Adams, an Autograph Collection Hotel by Marriott, will open its doors in October 2024. Located at 2 South 400 West, this luxury hotel occupies the historic Union Pacific railroad passenger station, a building that dates back to 1908. Park CityDesigned by British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, WildKitchen at The Lodge at Blue Sky offers bold flavors. Set in a high alpine field overlooking the dramatic landscape of the Wasatch Mountain Range, this outpost kitchen is the second of Ritchie’s exclusive dining experiences and is featured in his Netflix hit series The Gentlemen.LOMA is the second restaurant venture for Adam and Meisha Ross, joining Twisted Fern under the couple’s ownership and direction. Both restaurants prioritize sustainability through a commitment to local purveyors and conscientious business practices.Montage Deer Valley is home to 81 onsite residences that range 1,200 to 5,300 square feet in size and some have been newly reimagined by high-end interior design firm Ohana Design & Build to reflect “a harmonious blend of timeless elegance, modern comfort and unparalleled mountain views seamlessly woven throughout,” according to Ski Utah.Heber ValleyThe Grand Hyatt Deer Valley is set to open in late November at the base of the new Deer Valley East Village.The new Ameyalli Health & Wellness Resort held a groundbreaking earlier this year and plans to open its first phase in February 2024. The Wellness Center, promoted by Deepak Chopra, is scheduled for completion in 2025. Soldier Hollow is undergoing a multi-million dollar investment to upgrade and expand its facilities in preparation to host the IBU World Cup in March 2024, a major international competition. OgdenOgden will celebrate 100 Years of Union Station and the Egyptian Theater.SKI AND RIDE SEASON PASSES:With a variety of pass options available, skiers and riders have access to multiple Utah resorts.
