RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Grab your dancing shoes! The Richmond Performing Arts Alliance will host its annual Party for the Arts event in early November. In the morning on Thursday, Oct. 24, 8News Anchors Delaney Hall and Autumn Childress spoke with Abbi Haggerty, the alliance's executive director, about all the event will entail. "This year's theme is disco inferno, which is inspired by our headlining performance by the Trammps, featuring Earl Young, so we're encouraging everyone to come out in their modern studio 54 attire for a night of dancing, music and entertainment," Haggerty said. Haggerty said that proceeds from the event will support programs at local schools, libraries and recreation centers. She also explained a bit about the organization's programs. "Our mission is to support the artists in our community, to nurture the artists of tomorrow and to provide spaces for the arts to thrive. We support the Altria Theater and the Dominion Energy Center, and really focus on expanding access to the arts for everyone," Haggerty said. Party for the Arts will be held on Nov. 7 at the Dominion Energy Center. For more information and to grab your tickets, click here.
