(WRIC) -- Fuego y Salsa Mexican Grill + Bar will soon open on 17th Street in Richmond, and 8News got an exclusive look inside the new restaurant. Jose Bautista, owner of Fuego y Salsa Mexican Grill + Bar, located at 7 N. 17th Street in Richmond's Shockoe Bottom area, sat down with 8News and shared what the community can expect from the new restaurant. "Our menu is very extensive," Bautista said. "We have a lot of items for anybody from vegan to meat. We have authentic Mexican burritos and tacos that you can try. We have very delicious steaks. We stand out for our burritos that come with a lot of flavor. Most of our flavors are very distinct from any other Mexican restaurant. So we hope you can try it out and and judge yourself." Bautista also has a restaurant in Ashland, Casa Herradura, which opened in 2021. The success of the Ashland location led him to want to expand his business into Richmond. "We thought of downtown Richmond, because first, it's a location that already has a couple of restaurants but we thought that it was missing a good Mexican restaurant," Bautista said. "So we found this great spot and it's a great city that is growing a lot and is changing. We want to change with the City of Richmond and bring something new to the city." Bautista plans to open Fuego y Salsa Mexican Bar + Grill in the beginning of November. "We want to invite everyone to visit us and try it out," Bautista said. "We're definitely 100% sure that you're going to love what we offer, the flavors that we have and the food that we have. I know the City of Richmond is a great location, so we'd like to have your support so we can keep growing." The restaurant is expected to seat up to 80 occupants -- with indoor seating, a bar and outdoor patio seating overlooking 17th Street available.
