PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Providence school teacher accused of sexual assault and possession of child pornography has been suspended without pay from the Providence Public School District. Joseph Gannon, 50, an eight grade science teacher, was suspended as of October 16, according to Providence Public Schools. Gannon is charged with first degree sexual assault and one count of producing/transferring child pornography. He was arrested in September by Providence police after an alleged victim reported him.
