FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The YWCA Northeast Indiana invites community members on Thursday to hit the rock wall and raise funds for it's Addiction Recovery Program. Community members can pay $17 for full use of the Summit City Climbing Co. Funds will go to the Addiction Recovery Program which supports and treats women living with a substance use disorder. Paula Hughes-Schuh, CEO of YWCA Northeast Indiana, said that rock climbing was a perfect fit for the fundraiser as the program directs clients to activities they can enjoy without other influences. "We do things that help show them what it's like to be sober and have fun, and rock climbing is a great example," Hughs-Schuh said. The fundraiser runs from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Summit City Climbing Co. located at 1331 E. Berry St. Day passes and donations can be bought and given on site.
