(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo School for Arts and Sciences (PSAS) announced it will be holding its 28th Annual Empty Bowls Event a community fundraiser aimed at combating hunger in the local area. The Empty Bowls Event was organized by the teachers and students at PSAS. Every PSAS student creates a unique handmade bowl for the occasion which will be available for a $10 donation. The handmade bowl of their choice will have a warm serving of soup provided by local restaurants and businesses, along with bread or rolls. Along with the meal, there will be a silent auction with items donated by community members. All proceeds from the event will go to local agencies working to address hunger and homelessness including Posada, the Pueblo Community Soup Kitchen, and the Wayside Cross Gospel Rescue Mission. PSAS is also inviting local restaurants, businesses, and individuals to contribute to the cause by donating prepared soups (two or more gallons), rolls or breadsticks (four to five dozen), desserts, or items for the silent auction. The event will be held on Nov. 8 at the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center with lunch being served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
