A 56-year-old woman died in a fire that tore through a Queens home Thursday morning, officials said. The blaze broke out on the second floor of the two-story home on Hollis Ave. at the corner of 109th Ave. in St. Albans about 8:30 a.m. A 56-year old woman was pronounced dead on scene after a fire broke out inside a residence at 195-14 Hollis Ave. in Queens, New York, on Thursday Oct. 24, 2024. (Theodore Parisienne for New York Daily News) Responding firefighters found the woman unconscious inside the home, police said. The woman died at the scene. Her name was not immediately released. FDNY Fire Marshals are working to determine what sparked the fire.
