FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities in Fond du Lac say a mechanic/auto shop was left heavily damaged late Wednesday night following a fire. According to a release from the Fond du Lac Fire Rescue, crews responded at 11:46 p.m. to a mechanic/auto shop on 322 North Military Road for reports of smoke in the area. Propane leak the likely cause of a home explosion in Waupaca County Upon arrival, officials say smoke was showing from the doors of an auto shop attached to other businesses. Crew reportedly had to cut a hole to get water to the fire inside of the shop and once they were able to get access to the fire, it was contained after about 90 minutes. The auto shop and its contents inside are considered to be a total loss, however, firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the attached businesses. At this time, no other information is available and an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing by the Fond du Lac Fire Rescue.
