DUBLIN, Ohio (WCMH) -- The Bogey Inn, the historic Dublin bar near Muirfield Village Golf Club that closed in 2022, is auctioning off its furniture and memorabilia this week ahead of the building's possible demolition. The bar at 6013 Glick Road in Dublin permanently shuttered in 2022 after owner Jeff Parenteau died, then briefly reopened in 2023 and again earlier this summer for the Memorial Tournament. Now, more than 800 of the restaurant's items -- branded tables and chairs, signage, kitchenware and more -- have been listed on an online auction that closes at 2 p.m. on Thursday. Company shutting down Canal Winchester warehouse, laying off over 150 employees "This online auction ... is to sell items from the former Bogey Inn so the site can be made ready for a new use," the listing on local auctioneer Paul Delphia's site states. "Additional items from other closed restaurants may be included and those items will have various pick up locations including warehouse site on the east side or in some cases at the Bogey Inn site as well." Delaware County auditor's office records show that an affiliate of the Muirfield Village Golf Club acquired the bar after its 2022 closure. A Jack Daniels statue already has 31 bids with the highest at $525, the listing shows. Patio table and chair sets with Bogey Inn branding each have nearly several dozen bids, with the highest at $220. A "Welcome to the Bogey Inn" sign has 27 bids with the highest at $180. Also included in the auction are two bounce houses, one sitting at $250 with 10 bids and the second at $400 with 14 bids. The Bogey Inn is not the first central Ohio business to recently close and then auction off its equipment. Oscar’s Restaurant and Bar shuttered in January after more than 30 years in business and had an auction the following Monday to sell “everything by piece til done,” the listing stated. Columbus-based Bread Financial laying off 500 employees Mackenzie River, a shuttered restaurant at 1515 Polaris Parkway that replaced Max and Erma’s, auctioned off its furniture earlier this year ahead of the building’s demolition to make room for a new Chick-fil-A. The restaurant launched in 2016 after Montana-based Glacier Restaurant Group purchased all Max and Erma’s locations and transformed several into Mackenzie River eateries. A central Ohio Walmart that closed after not meeting "financial expectations" auctioned off leftover retail equipment and merchandise, including cash registers, checkout counters, display racks, laptops and security cameras.
