A man in his 60s was killed late Wednesday afternoon when he was struck by a pickup as he crossed a Vista street, a sheriff’s deputy said. The incident happened just after 5:10 p.m. at the intersection of East Vista Way and Townsite Drive, Deputy Jennifer Albright said in a news release. The man was walking in a crosswalk when he was struck by a 2024 Dodge Ram 1500, Albright said. The driver, a woman in her 30s, stopped and cooperated with investigators. The deputy said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash for either the pickup driver or the man who was struck. Albright asked that anyone with information regarding the incident call the Sheriff’s Office at 858-565-5200.
