(KRON) -- Union City police officers found a dead body on the toilet of a home while they were searching for a missing woman this summer, the Union City Police Department confirmed. The body found was not that of the woman they were searching for. On Aug. 16, the police department got a call from family members searching for an elderly woman named Nadine Parker. Officers spent hours looking for Parker, who was last known to be living at a home on Appian Way with two of her sons. Famous Berkeley falcon found sick days after release to wild Police searched that home, which was littered with clutter and debris. Multiple people were living at the house, and they appeared to have mental health issues, police said. Officers found the remains of a dead man on the toilet, UCPD said. "It's really strangely common for us to find people in the restroom. It happens more frequently than you would expect," UCPD Sergeant Brandon Hayward said. UCPD used the word "mummified" to describe the body, which in this case means dried up, not wrapped up in cloth. Mummification tends to happen when a considerable amount of time has passed and the body is in a space with dry air. Investigators are awaiting a cause of death, but they do not believe foul play is involved, police said. The cause of death is expected to be natural causes. Parker was later located alive at a senior home. Police are still trying to determine the identity of the man found on the toilet.
