Man dies after being shot in head Ridgebrooke Drive, High Point police say; North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation brought in

HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) -- An investigation is underway into the death of a man who was shot in the head on Saturday, according to a High Point Police Department news release.
At 9:10 p.m. High Point officers responded to Ridgebrooke Drive when they were told about a fatal shooting.
Arriving officers found 32-year-old Hasson Williams. He had been shot in the head one time.
Williams was taken to a hospital where he died.
The HPPD Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and began their investigation.
Based on initial statements on the scene, investigators learned an involved party may be related to a City of High Point elected official.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation was then contacted to assume the responsibility of the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing.
