FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- For a third straight year, Fort Wayne City Utilities has received recognition from an Indiana nonprofit for having the best tasting water in the state. The award came from the Alliance of Indiana Rural Water, a nonprofit membership association comprised of more than 800 water systems and related professionals. Judges critiqued a variety of factors including clarity, odor and taste to determine a winner. "The Alliance's competition is not just a celebration of great-tasting water; it serves as a reminder of the stringent regulatory standards that water utilities must meet and the trust our customers place in our ability to provide high-quality water," said Kumar Menon, director of Fort Wayne City Utilities. Fort Wayne has won the award three years in a row and four times in the last six years. In early 2025, Fort Wayne will represent Indiana in the national "Great American Water Taste Test" competition.
