(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Halloween is just around the corner, and community members are going all out to celebrate the spooky season. FOX21 Photojournalist Lilia Onstott set out to find a few spooky activities and during her search, she found a home fully decked out in Halloween gear and later discovered the homeowners are nowhere near "done" as the true fun begins on Halloween. Halloween events in Southern Colorado William "Bill" Vogt, owner of the home, said decorating the home is a long-time tradition that began when his daughter was younger. "It started when she was four or five with one inflatable, not too scary more of a cartoon, and as she got older, we hit up Spirit Halloween stores, Party City and we added a few decorations," Vogt mentioned. "It's turned into quite a collection over the past couple of years." Vogt said the decorations have turned more scary over the years and sometimes even compete with other neighbors. He mentioned the house is always busy on All Hallows Eve. Vogt's wife, Carol, is visiting from out of the country. He said this is her first Halloween, as they do not celebrate it in the Philippines. Carol said she enjoys the decorations and it's a "cool thing" to see. The Vogt family doesn't only go all out for Halloween, but also for Christmas. Don't worry though, there is still time to see all the Halloween decorations at the Vogt's home on Ptarmigan Lane near Dublin Park until Nov. 1, after which the family gears up for the Christmas holiday season.
