AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Kyle Police Department arrested a 20-year-old San Marcos man in connection with a fentanyl poisoning death that happened over the weekend, the agency said in a news release Wednesday. Police identified that man as Isaac Arroyos. Isaac Arroyos, 20 (Courtesy Kyle Police Department) Officers responded to a "welfare concern call" on Bellair Drive in Kyle on Oct. 19. When officers arrived, they found 19-year-old Edgard Escobar "displaying signs of fentanyl poisoning," the agency said in the release. Kyle Police made 2 arrests after 3 fentanyl poisonings and 1 death Police said emergency medical services "administered CPR and Narcan," but Escobar was pronounced dead on the scene. Earlier this week, the police department said it responded to three fentanyl poisonings on Saturday. All three who were poisoned were between the ages of 18 and 19, according to police. Additionally, two others were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and were "medically cleared and reported stable," according to police. Arroyos attempted to run, according to police. However, he was found and arrested for possession of a controlled substance when police said he admitted to "having THC vape cartridges." The investigation also revealed he "was knowingly distributing fentanyl-laced pills," the release said. "We are deeply saddened by another life lost to fentanyl. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim during this difficult time." Kyle Chief Of Police Jeff Barnett said in the release. "I want to commend the work of all involved for their swift response. It is through their actions that we were able to quickly apprehend Arroyos and remove one more threat from our community."
