Kamala Harris to address crowd at National Mall next week ahead of election

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Vice President Kamala Harris will give a speech at the National Mall on Tuesday, Oct. 29, a week before Election Day, according to a report from the Washington Post.
According to the event's permit application, the Harris campaign applied to hold the event on the National Mall between 7th and 4th streets, with staging set up closer to 4th Street.
DC News Now obtained an email on Wednesday showing that the Harris Campaign requested to move the speech to the Ellipse; however, it has not been confirmed whether the request was approved.

About 7,500 people are expected to attend the event, which the permit application describes as a "First Amendment Activity: Political Speech."
Elected officials will speak with four to five other individuals; however, they are not explicitly named in the application.
The application also cites plans to have a 40-foot stage, 1,000 chairs, 50 portable restrooms and 5,000 signs.
