YOSEMITE (KSEE/KGPE) – A 14-year-old who went missing in Yosemite National Park over 40 years ago is still considered missing by the National Park Service. Stacey Anne Arras was last seen during a trip with her father in 1981. According to the National Park Service, on July 17, 1981, Arras and her dad started a four-day trip on the High Sierra Loop at Tuolumne Meadows.  Is Yosemite one of the ‘most dangerous’ national parks? They were part of a group of 10 people riding mules to the Sunrise High Sierra Camp, which is at an elevation of 9,400 feet above sea level  National Park Service The group arrived at the camp around 3 p.m. The National Park Service says after arriving at the cabin and taking a shower, Arras began a 1.5-mile hike along the trail to Sunrise Lakes.  According to the National Park Service, she intended to hike with a 77-year-old man who was part of the group. The 77-year-old stopped during the hike after he became tired and sat down to rest.  The guide who led the ride was working at the corral and noticed Arras standing on a rock about 50 yards south of the trail. The guide was reportedly the last person to see Arras. Arras was described as a white female, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 120 pounds, blond shoulder-length hair (naturally straight).  She was last seen wearing a white pullover windbreaker, white jersey blouse with a square neckline and lace trim, shorts with vertical half-inch maroon and white stripes and intermittent sky-blue pinstripes, gray hiking boots (rough outer leather and Vibram soles), gold-tone anklet, and a retainer on her upper teeth. Tips that could help investigators locate Arras can be submitted here.
