WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said Brooks Vonthaer, 40, was killed at the El Dorado Correctional Facility, and the suspect is his cellmate. Wichita mother said, ‘I shot my baby,’ affidavit claims Agents responded and found Vonthaer had sustained multiple fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at 5:18 p.m. The KBI said a male suspect, 34, was identified. He is incarcerated at the facility and was Vonthaer's cellmate. An investigation is ongoing.
