TOPEKA (KTMJ) - When he's outside of the boxing ring, John Cantrell is working to tackle homelessness and addiction in Topeka. In the first edition of Sudden Nova, Cantrell talked about setting up strong support systems and his commitment to making a change in the local community. "You can throw as much money as you want at homelessness, at the opiate epidemic, at the - you know, housing crisis, at the homeless crisis," Cantrell said. "Any of these things you want, but you're not addressing the systemic failures in place that allowed all of these things to fall through the cracks." You can watch the full Sudden Nova segment above.
