NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin is reminding Massachusetts residents to make sure they are registered to vote by Oct. 26.  Saturday, Oct. 26 is the last day for Massachusetts residents to register to vote for the upcoming presidential election on Nov. 5. “If you want to vote for president, any other office on the ballot, or these ballot questions, you need to be registered to vote,” Galvin said. “Even if you are already a voter, if you’ve moved since the last time you voted, I urge you to check that your address is up to date before it’s too late.” In-person registration is open until 5 p.m. at local election offices and early voting locations, and mail-in registration must be postmarked by Oct. 26. The online registrations deadline is 11:59 p.m., and residents must have a Massachusetts driver’s license or state identification card registered by the RMV. For citizens naturalized after the deadline, Galvin said these new citizens can register to vote in person until 4 p.m. on Nov. 4 with proof that they were naturalized after Oct. 26. Early voting is open until Nov. 1. In-person voting is on Nov. 5. For registration information, voters can visit www.VoteInMA.com Categories: Massachusetts, News
