Missing ACI inmate taken back into custody

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — The ACI inmate who walked off of a work detail nearly two weeks ago has been captured.
The R.I. Department of Corrections said Joshua Torres was taken into custody by Rhode Island State Police's Violent Fugitive Task Force on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old abandoned his job at the Central Distribution Center warehouse on Oct. 10, officials said.
Rhode Island State Police Col. Darnell Weaver told 12 News Torres was taken into custody at the Super 8 in West Greenwich.
Torres was transported back to the intake service center and is expected to face new charges on Thursday.
