2 charged in New Bedford double shooting

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — New Bedford police have arrested a second suspect believed to be involved in a double shooting last month.
Two people were shot at the Blue Meadows Housing Development on Sept. 24, according to police.
As a result, 20-year-old Tyrell Prat was taken into custody on Oct. 1.
He is facing various charges including assault and battery by discharge of a firearm, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, receiving a stolen motor vehicle and carrying a loaded firearm with a defaced serial number.
Police said he was out on probation at the time of his arrest.
Two weeks later, 20-year-old Daziere Colton was arrested on Oct. 17 and charged with a number of offenses, including assault by discharge of a firearm, receiving a stolen vehicle and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
New Bedford Police Chief Paul Oliveira said in a statement that he expects more arrests will be made.
