MOORE, Okla. (KFOR) - The Moore Police Department is introducing its patrol therapy pup, Leo! According to Moore PD, Leo is the only therapy dog in the Oklahoma City metro on patrol full-time with his handler Sgt. Gurchinoff. He is also the only therapy dog for both the public and officers. He is trained to comfort victims on scene while first responders do their jobs. He tags along on calls involving children, health calls, domestic situations, death notifications and more. "Anytime we feel like he can help someone or make the situation feel just a little bit better and someone wants to see him, we get him out," said Sgt. Gurchinoff. "We learned his love and how good he is at therapy could be used in a bigger role." He is described as an asset to the department as he helps those in the community. "If we're not actively on a call and you see us, you can flag me down and ask if you can meet Leo and I'd be happy to do so." Gurchinoff added.
