CHESAPEAKE Va. (WAVY) – A 19-year-old man who’s facing several charges in connection to a road rage incident on Interstate 664 in Chesapeake has been granted bond. Police charged Jordan Copeland after the Oct. 12 incident, and after a hearing in Chesapeake General District Court Wednesday, a judge will release him from the Chesapeake City Jail on a $5,000 bond.   Copeland's attorney said one of the reasons he wanted to be allowed home before the trial was to help his pregnant girlfriend. The judge also noted that Copeland did not have a criminal history. The road rage shooting happened on I-664 at the Pughsville Road off-ramp in Chesapeake. Police said two vehicles traveling northbound were involved in a road rage incident that resulted in a shooting. A woman was hurt but is OK.  The prosecution stated that after an extensive investigation, a photo from a witness that matched part of the license plate and video from a Flock camera put Copeland’s white Nissan Maxima in the area.  Copeland’s father made an appearance and spoke to the judge in the courtroom, saying there are no weapons in the home and he does not believe his son has anger issues.  Copeland cannot travel out of state, and he will have unannounced weekly testing, no contact with the victim, and he must sign up for anger management classes.  He will appear in Circuit Court tomorrow before getting released. Copeland’s preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 19.
