NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Causeway Bridge has reopened following a crash on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The Causeway Police Department posted to social media that the closure happened around 12:18 p.m. and shut down the southbound lanes of the bridge. $10M awarded for improvements to MSY airport Causeway police reported the bridge is expected the closure to last an hour. Southbound lanes have reopened but the left lane will remain closed at mile marker 14.8. WGNO's Curt Sprang captured video of the backed-up traffic. The video shows cars backing up and traveling in the opposite direction to exit the bridge. Details of the crash are unknown at this time.
