ST. JAMES PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A disaster recovery center in Convent, that has been serving the community in the wake of Hurricane Francine, will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24. According to FEMA, it's located at Convent Community Center at 5775 Highway 44. Southbound lanes of Causeway Bridge reopens following crash More locations are still open in Ascension, Assumption, Lafourche, Jefferson, St. John the Baptist, St. Mary and Terrebonne parishes, and can be found with the Disaster Recovery Center Locater on FEMA's website. The centers are open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be visited with no appointment. The centers are also accessible for people with disabilities. Visits aren't necessary to receive FEMA disaster assistance.
