KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in the 3600 block of Indiana Avenue. KCPD says that just after 3:30 p.m. today, October 23, officers were dispatched to a local business in the area on reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located one adult man suffering from gunshot wounds inside a nearby store. They attempted to render medical aid until EMS arrived and declared the victim dead inside the store. Woman dies in hospital after being hit, run over by bus on Saturday KCPD also says that there was another adult male victim, who was privately transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. According to KCPD, it is believed that the shooting was the result of some sort of altercation inside the store which resulted in the shooting death. It is unknown if the owner of the store was involved in the incident at all. KCPD also claims that they have one person of interest in custody and there is no known threat to the public at this time. This is homicide number 124 in Kansas City, Missouri so far in 2024. If anyone saw or heard anything they are asked to contact homicide detectives directly at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS there is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously via the TIPS hotline.
