HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — A 16-year-old is facing charges after a loaded gun was found on the campus of Andrews High School in High Point, according to police. At 11 a.m. on Wednesday, a door alarm went off on one of the school's side doors, prompting the principal and a school resource officer to investigate. The SRO learned that a student had opened the door and brought in a bag from outside. The SRO searched the student's bag and reportedly found a loaded handgun. Police say the weapon "was never displayed and there was no threat to the school." The teenager was charged with possession of a firearm on educational property, possession of a handgun by a minor, possession of a stolen firearm and carrying a concealed gun. The student was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center under a secure custody order
