CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two “dangerous” repeat juvenile offenders were arrested after allegedly threatening to kill two girls and flashing a gun while live streaming on social media, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. In September, police said a 16-year-old allegedly threatened to shoot and kill two girls. Two days later, the same juvenile and a 17-year-old allegedly showed a firearm while live streaming on social media. Officers located their location and conducted a search warrant, recovering two stolen firearms, CMPD said. The two juveniles were arrested at the scene. The names of the juveniles were not released due to their age. Police did not specify what the juveniles were charged with but said CMPD’s Juvenile Accountability and Diversion Empowerment (JADE) team “provides resources to youth and their families to prevent recidivism and steer them toward the right path while still holding them accountable for their actions.”
