BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Denham Springs man pleaded guilty to distribution of child pornography.
According to United States Attorney Ronald Gathe Jr., Barry Paul Vining, 56, admitted to uploading images of child porn to a file-sharing service on the internet on Nov. 27, 2022. The file-sharing service allows other users around the world to access and download content on the site.
Vining also had multiple videos and photos of child pornography, a news release said.
"Our office will remain steadfast in the prosecution of the horrific crime of child pornography, a crime that preys on the most vulnerable, our youth," said Gathe. "I want to thank our Project Safe Childhood Partners, especially the U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency for their hard work in investigating this illegal act.”
The case was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to fight child sexual exploitation and abuse launched by the Department of Justice.
