Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Detroit Lions fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in regular email surveys. Each week, in our SB Nation Reacts Survey, we will provide readers with a question or two specifically geared toward Detroit Lions fans, with an article exploring the results released later in the week. This week, we have two questions: the first being a recurring weekly question, and the next being designed for Week 8: 1. Are you confident the Lions are headed in the right direction? (weekly poll)2. How much should the Lions be willing to trade for an edge rusher? The Lions have been on a roll in their three most recent games and fans are throwing their support behind the organization. A win over the Seahawks brought Lions fans’ confidence in the direction of the team up to an impressive 99% of fans, dismantling the Dallas Cowboys kept the team near the top with 98% fan confidence, and now, with a huge win over the Minnesota Vikings making the Lions the best team in the NFC, it’s time to vote again. With Aidan Hutchinson lost for the season, Lions fans appear to have a wide-ranging view on how to supplement his production. Coach Dan Campbell has made it clear that the Lions are actively searching for a trade partner, but are also comfortable sticking with who they have on the current roster. “We need a little bit (more pressure),” Campbell said. “Whether that’s somebody in house, we do things a little different, or it is a trade. Look, Brad (Holmes)’s still looking at everything right now. It’s not like we turned our back on that (and) nobody’s looking or anything. So, we’ll find it, but until that time we’re gonna find whatever we need to here.” The Lions have already signed Isaiah Thomas off the Bengals practice squad and signed Pat O’Connor off their practice squad, but they’ve also reportedly reached out to the Browns to inquire about Za’Darius Smith—who has told the media that he’s open to the idea of being traded to Detroit. Some fans would like the Lions to do whatever it takes to bring Maxx Crosby home to Detroit—no matter how many times he insists he’s staying with the Raiders—while others think the Lions should stay pat and work with what they have. And that brings us to our second survey question—How much should the Lions be willing to trade for an edge rusher?—and we have given fans five options to choose from: Multiple 1st round picks One 1st round pick One Day 2 pick Multiple Day 3 picks Other Knowing what we know about Holmes’ approach to team building, how valuable draft picks are to his process, combined with team need, and being firmly ready for a run at the Super Bowl, which of the above options should the Lions be willing to part with in order to add an edge rusher to the roster? Alright, it’s time to vote in the polls below, and keep an eye out later in the week for the results. Please take our survey
