SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Two people are dead following a crash that happened Tuesday afternoon on westbound State Route 905 in Otay Mesa, authorities confirmed Wednesday. According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Border Patrol agents were involved in a vehicle pursuit on SR-905 around 2:20 p.m. prior to the crash. Two people in the suspect vehicle died in the crash, CBP said. PREVIOUS STORY: One person dead, another hurt in SR-905 crash The SigAlert map showed the crash occurred on the freeway near Britannia Boulevard near Exit 6 around 2:30 p.m. All westbound lanes were closed for several hours following the crash and were reopened around 10:57 p.m., Caltrans said. Caltrans crews were on scene to fix about 100 feet of guardrail damage, while traffic was being redirected. The California Highway Patrol and CBP's Office of Professional Responsibility are investigating. The Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General was also notified, according to CBP.
