One arrested after Norman shooting, victim remains hospitalized

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) - Authorities in Norman have arrested one person in connection to a shooting in the 1600 block of 24th Avenue that left one person injured.
Police say officers found a 15-year-old female with a gunshot wound and was transported to a hospital where she remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting investigation according to police indicate that the suspect, identified as a 15-year-old male had an altercation behind a elementary school with the victim that led to the shooting. Police confirmed the incident happened with no school staff or students present.

Authorities say the suspect was eventually located in the 800 block of Lexington Street and taken into custody. He is currently facing a complaint of Assault and Battery with a Deadly Weapon, says Norman officials.
The investigation is still ongoing.
