PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) -- The Pflugerville Police Department said just before 10 a.m. it had ended its search for someone evading arrest and stealing a vehicle. That person has now been placed under arrest, according to PPD.
PPD said it was searching for someone in the area of Farm-to-Market 685 and Priem Lane Wednesday morning, according to a social media post. An elementary school nearby was placed in secure mode as a precaution. Police originally said it was in lockdown mode before later correcting that it was in secure mode.
"Our campus was in a secure mode, not lockdown, which is very different. Secure means we just ensure that all of our outside doors are locked and no students go outside for recess. It is normal for a business to be within the building. We frequently place campuses in secure mode for anything happening outside of our campuses. The city PD has been asked to adjust their post as it is causing needless panic among parents. Regardless, the situation that occurred was an outside situation that did not impact the school," Pflugerville ISD said in a statement to KXAN.
