TAYLOR, Texas (KXAN) -- The Williamson County Fair and Rodeo is back! It officially kicks off on Wednesday with free admission for the whole family. This year marks four years of the fair, which has grown significantly each year. Because of the growth, the rodeo is planning a new practice facility that's set to open in 2026. The fair has a little bit of Texas with it, including pig races, a stick horse parade, petting zoo, and of course, the rodeo itself. The fair runs Wednesday, Oct. 23 through Saturday, Oct. 26. You can see a full schedule of events here. The fair is only free on Wednesday. Carnival rides are sold separately in the carnival area. Otherwise, general admission prices for adults vary between $14 to $20 depending on the day and if they are bought online or in person. Visit their website for a full list of pricing. Williamson County reporter Barrett Tryon is looking closer at the fair's impact and why it's more than just a place to have fun for KXAN News at 6.
