BEXLEY, Ohio (WCMH) -- Bexley residents will soon be able to enjoy Katalina's well-loved pancake balls closer to home, as the Columbus cafe chain prepares to open its third location next week.
According to a countdown titled "BexleyOrBust" posted to social media, Katalina's Tres will open at 8 a.m. on Nov. 1. The local breakfast chain pulls inspiration from Latin and Southern food to create its breakfast tacos, sandwiches and specialty items.
The opening will mark Katalina's third location and has been highly anticipated since the expansion was announced in January.

According to a progress report video posted to social media on Oct. 5, the space is equipped with long tables made by Bexley couple Kathy and Ricky Gonzalez. Green walls and big windows characterize the indoor dining area.
Outside, red umbrellas are poised to cover visitors sitting at picnic tables. A parking lot sits adjacent to the restaurant, where cars are greeted with murals along the side of the building celebrating Katlina's Tres.
A banner hanging out front thanked Bexley's Facade Improvement Program, an optional grant for business owners that provides 35% of approved project costs for a building to incentivize businesses to adhere to Bexley's pedestrian-friendly and aesthetic goals.
According to documents from Bexley's Building and Zoning Department, Katlina's received $10,000 from the city to help with painting, a new patio, landscaping and four newly built windows.

Katalina's began in a 100-year-old gas station in the Harrison West neighborhood, which owner Kathleen Day transformed into the original Katalina's Cafe. Day's second location, Katalina's, Too!, sits on North High Street in Clintonville and was featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" in August.
Katalina's Tres replaces a former Boston Market at 2741 E. Main St. The shop will be open from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily.
