COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) - An annual battle between Ohio State and the team up north is in full swing, all to help save lives. The 43rd annual Blood Battle between Ohio State and Michigan is happening through Nov. 27. The drive is an effort to collect blood donations and beat the Wolverines off the field. The blood drives will be held at the Great Hall Meeting Room inside the Ohio Union, with several other locations across campus. All blood donated will stay local by helping patients at the Wexner Medical Center. The donations will also benefit patients with cancer, who need a transplant surgery or those involved in traumatic accidents. First 2025 Ohio State Fair concert announced Those who donate will receive a limited edition T-shirt and a $5 gift card to Roosters. The appointments are through Versiti Blood Center of Ohio from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are accepted. Ohio State is the defending champion after beating Michigan in the Blood Battle in 2022.
