Jeffrey Becker-Imagn Images The Lions are losing their WR2 to a two-game suspension. Who will be the biggest beneficiary of Jamo’s absence on offense? Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams is reportedly facing a two-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substances (PES) policy. It won’t be the first time the Lions have had to adapt their offense to accommodate his absence, with Jamo missing the start of the 2023 season for a gambling suspension. The Lions have had plenty of mouths to feed thus far in 2024, Jamo included. His absence means more targets to go around to other players who haven’t seen as much action. Who will be the biggest beneficiary? Question of the day: Who will see the biggest target increase while Jamo is out? It’s easy to think there are suddenly more targets to go around, but that really isn’t the case. While Jamo started the season hot, racking up 20 targets in the first two games, he has accrued just 10 targets in the four games since, totaling seven catches. That’s not a lot of extra targets to go around. My answer: For what it’s worth, though, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them go Tim Patrick’s way. He’s hitting his stride in this offense and will continue to contend as a downfield threat. Similarly, Kalif Raymond could see more action as a result. He adds a speed factor to the offense, and seems to be eating into Jamo’s role as of late even without the suspension. In the last two games Jamo has just seen five targets. In that time, Raymond racked up to 10 targets after starting the season with just five in the first four games. I don’t see these going the way of a guy like Sam LaPorta, who folks will obviously want to see get more targets given his slow start to the season. He just plays a completely different role compared to Jamo, and it probably won’t translate. Who do you think is the biggest beneficiary of Jamo’s absence on offense?
