Pedestrian crash in Montgomery County injures two; one critically hurt

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Officials said two people were taken to the hospital after a pedestrian crash in Montgomery County on Wednesday morning.
Pete Piringer, with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services, told DC News Now that around 5:15 a.m., crews were called to Metzerott Road and New Hampshire Avenue. He said the report included that a person had been hit by a vehicle.

Details about what led to the crash remain limited; however, Piringer said one person was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Another patient was also taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
As crews worked on the scene, New Hampshire Road was shut down, early Wednesday morning.
