Election season is upon us and in the races for Summit County Council, I’ve received fliers from the candidates running for the open Seat C.As I reviewed the materials, one thing became clear — while platitudes and endorsements are appealing, they’re not a plan for action. That’s why I’m voting for Ari Iaonnides for County Council Seat C. He offers proven results over promises. Consider what Ari stands for and what he has already accomplished for Summit County. Ari understands that Summit County’s natural beauty is a treasure we must preserve. He’s dedicated to protecting our open spaces from overdevelopment by focusing on infill and redevelopment in already developed areas. This approach ensures that our landscapes remain pristine for future generations. In fact, Ari has already worked to preserve 260 acres of open space in the county.Protecting our environment is a top priority for Ari. He supports local businesses while promoting conservation and stewardship of the land to ensure that growth does not compromise our community’s character. And he walks the walk, having already successfully advanced solar energy in the county. When it comes to housing affordability and community, Ari is hands on. His plan includes supporting local builders and leveraging new construction technologies to create more affordable housing. Having grown up in dedicated housing projects and given his work in the construction world, he has the life experience the council needs to find effective and common sense solutions.Ari is passionate about innovating in education and providing opportunity to all. He founded the National Elementary Computer Science Program, which is empowering the next generation with critical tech workforce skills for good-paying jobs. Finally, he knows what it means to represent Summit County. He is fully committed to engaging and collaborating with residents, local businesses, our state legislature, and stakeholders of all political stripes to develop policies that reflect our community’s values and needs. After all, that’s what he did to save the Park City Institute that so many Parkites cherish. In short, Ari’s already gotten results as an advocate and concerned citizen, so just think of what he could do as a member of the Summit County Council. Vote Ari!Hillary JessupPark CityThe post Results over platitudes appeared first on Park Record.
