Dear Park City and Hideout Communities: Please accept the heartfelt thanks from myself, Christian and the entire Hayes family for your generous and continuous outpouring of love and support after Patrick tragically lost his life to gun violence one month ago. We are truly grateful for your constant prayers!While I do not have any reason to believe that this was a politically motivated murder, I do believe that the political climate in which we live emboldened this person to believe that they had a right to shoot a man from inside a car at point blank. The division in our country has gotten so extreme that violence has become acceptably mainstream. A mass murder at a school is in the news for a few days until it gets replaced by the next mass murder. Some individuals feel they need to carry a gun “just in case,” and then use it rather than turning around a leaving a tense situation.I have two asks of this community:Please keep sharing and posting about Patrick’s murder so that someone, somewhere will come forward and help us find the criminal(s) responsible. If you have seen, heard, or know something or anything, please call the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office at (435) 654-1411.
