CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — It's a bold move to steal election signs, and the video shows one man did it at least three times against the Charlotte Mecklenburg Fraternal Order of Police. "The first batch we put out on October 1st, which was a Tuesday. They got set up after one of our membership meetings. And the next Wednesday morning, one of our members had driven by and realized the signs they weren't there anymore," said President Daniel Redford. But he says after further investigation, they realized the signs were just knocked over. North Carolina county Democratic chair resigns after Trump sign stealing charges But then it happened a second time. Members put up a camera to catch the perp, then something else happened.  "The signs got stolen three more times and it was captured to show that it was from the same person," Redford said.  Surveillance video shows the suspect driving up in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee on October 10, 15 and 20, taking political signs featuring Republican candidate for President Donald Trump, Republican candidate for Labor Commissioner Luke Farley, and Democratic candidate for North Carolina Senate Seat 42 Woodson Bradley. "It's not about the signs... it's kind of funny when I pull up and see they're gone because I know that somebody physically took time out of their day to pull off to the side of the road, to spend three minutes to steal a piece of plastic. So it's really juvenile, so it's just funny. And we've got an unlimited amount of signs. So as they keep getting taken, we just keep putting it back up," Redford said.       In North Carolina, it's a class 3 misdemeanor for a person to steal, deface, vandalize, or unlawfully remove a political sign that is lawfully placed. Redford believes it's also a violation of the organization's First Amendment rights. "I've just chalked it up to he is a supporter of everyone that we are that we are endorsing and promoting on our lodge and that he's just building up a stockpile to put in his front yard," Redford said.  He says they called Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police to file a report.
