MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Officers are reminding drivers to avoid distraction after a crash involving a tow truck and a school bus with students on board, the California Highway Patrol reported on Tuesday. CHP says they responded to a traffic crash involving a school bus on Avenue 21 at Road 8 on Tuesday morning. Officers report a tow truck driver failed to stop at the posted stop sign and entered the intersection, directly into the path of the school bus that had the right away. CHP says the school bus driver was unable to avoid a crash and the front of the school bus collided with the left side of the tow truck. Despite the school bus having students on board, CHP says no injuries were reported by anyone involved. As a result, officers remind drivers to always stay focused while driving, avoid distractions and remain aware of their surroundings to keep everyone safe on the road.
