WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — In August, KSN talked to Sally Nelson, a third-grade teacher in Wichita battling pancreatic cancer. Her surgery was postponed until the doctors could get the cancer in a good range. Since then, Nelson has been undergoing chemotherapy to get her numbers as low as possible before surgery. Nelson leaves for Phoenix, Arizona, on Wednesday for the surgery, which is scheduled for Thursday. "I just pray that they do get it all and it hasn't spread," Nelson told KSN. "I mean, right now, as far as all my tests go, it looks great." Kansas State offensive lineman Hadley Panzer set up an online fundraiser through "ChampsRaise," and is dedicating every touchdown the Wildcats score to help raise money to help Nelson beat cancer. From ChampsRaise: Your pledge will convert to a donation each month throughout the season based on the number of touchdowns by Kansas State's offense in the month prior. For example, if you pledge $10 - and Kansas State's offense scores 10 touchdowns in the month of October, your pledge turns into a $100 donation on November 15th.
