EL DORADO, KAN. (KSNT) - An inmate from Topeka, who was serving time in the El Dorado Correctional Facility, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon. According to the Kansas Department of Corrections, 40-year-old Brooks Vonthaer died Tuesday, Oct. 22 while residing in the El Dorado Correctional Facility (EDCF). Vonthaer was found unresponsive in his cell Tuesday afternoon. The death is currently under investigation by the Kansas Department of Corrections and the Kansas Bureau of Investigations, per protocol. Where is public nudity allowed in Kansas? According to the news release, Vonthaer was serving a 62-month sentence for four convictions of aggravated assault, criminal trespass, theft and criminal damage in Shawnee County.
