NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — With hundreds of thousands expected to fly into New Orleans for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, city leaders are making it clear safety is their top concern. "The conversations that they sport, venue risk managers, law enforcement are having at this time are ensuring a safe and enjoyable fan experience," James DeMeo, security expert said. "Obviously, we're looking at an international mega superstar." Along with additional police presence, the New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness will start up the city's emergency operations. If you don't have a ticket, there are still ways you can get your hands on Eras Tour merchandise. At Champions Square on Oct. 22-23 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., all fans are welcome to buy merchandise, regardless of whether or not they have a ticket. Then, Oct. 25-27, also 10 a.m to 8 p.m., the Smoothie King Center will invite all fans to shop Eras Tour merchandise as well. Non-ticketed fans will not have access to Champions Square or the Caesars Superdome Perimeter on concert days. Mike Hoss with ASM Global says those with tickets will have opportunities to buy merchandise inside the Superdome, but suggests utilizing the early buying opportunities. "Superdome gates open at 4:30 p.m., the show begins at 6:45 p.m. No tickets will be sold at the stadium."
