ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The SUNY Brockport Small Business Development Center and LeChase Construction hosted their first ever Empower Her event Tuesday. It's an event geared toward connecting women with the resources they need to encourage entrepreneurship and business ownership. Attendees heard from female executives in a variety of industries, offering insight on how to achieve a work-life balance, and prioritize personal wellbeing. "A lot of ladies take care of their businesses just like they take care of their families, but they haven't had time to get that annual mammogram. They haven't had time to be able to truly take care of the thing that they need most so they can keep doing what they're doing," Stephanie Pennington with LeChase Construction said. The reminder comes during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
