FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The City of Fresno announced a $7.4 million paving project through spring. The city says the project which came in almost 40% under budget will focus on repaving residential streets and key thoroughfares in Fresno.  “This paving project is not just about fixing potholes – it’s about investing in the long-term quality of our roads in Fresno. We are committed to enhancing road safety, reducing vehicle wear and tear, and improving quality of life by building a better Fresno,” said Mayor Jerry Dyer. A list of neighborhoods and streets included in the paving project are: Dakota – Shields – First – Fresno Neighborhood Browning – Bullard – Millbrook – Ninth Neighborhood Fruit Avenue from Clinton to Dakota Rialto – Marks – Norwich – Valentine Neighborhood Shields – Crystal – Clinton – Hughes Neighborhood Cesar Chavez Boulevard – Maple – Huntington – Chestnut Neighborhood First Street from Sierra to Herndon Echo Avenue from McKinley to Olive “Prioritizing road maintenance is a key focus for the City Council. I take great pride in knowing that our tax dollars are being reinvested directly into improving the lives of our residents,” said Council President Annalisa Perea. The city says the project is funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and SB1 gas tax dollars.
