MARSHALL COUNTY (KSNT) - State transportation officials will be replacing a bridge soon in north-central Kansas. On Tuesday, Oct. 22 the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) announced it would start work on a US-77 bridge replacement project in Marshall County. Starting on Oct. 28, KDOT will start work on the replacement of the Deer Creek Bridge. The bridge is located about one mile north of the K-233 and Cherokee Road intersection. KDOT said the initial work will construct a detour taking traffic through the area. KDOT said traffic impact should be minimal in the first phase. Once the detour construction is completed, traffic will be taken along that route. KDOT said work will be done Monday through Friday during daylight hours. Work will be done on Saturdays if needed. Work is expected to be completed by July 2025. Strongest 12-year-old in the world calls Topeka home The contractor in charge of the $2.7 million project is King Construction out of Hesston, KS.
